The Garden Cottage

The Garden Cottage was established in 1998, making it one of the first B&Bs in Richards Bay. The cottage has a separate guest entrance & secure parking for three cars. Both rooms are en-suite. The rooms have MNet and DSTV.

The adjoining veranda overlooks the pool and garden. The Garden Cottage offers a full English, or Continental breakfast on request, served up on the veranda of the main house.

This establishment is not too strict on check in times as long as they are informed in advance with estimated time of arrival and departure.

The suburb of Meerensee is a mere 20 minutes drive to all of the main local Industries and about 15 minutes from either the beach or the shopping malls.

Richards Bay has arguably the most prestigious fishing spots in the country. The swimming beaches are protected with shark nets.

Over 300 species of birds can be spotted in and around town, making it a bird watcher's paradise. The Tuzi Gazi waterfront has a large variety of restaurants and entertainment for all, again barely a ten minute drive from the B&B.

From the N2 Durban, take the off-ramp to Richards Bay. Take a right turn on to the John Ross Highway. Keep straight on this Highway, you will go past the beach turn-offs. Keep going straight on this road untill it becomes Dune Route. Stay on this road untill you reach the Loodvislyn turn-off. Take a left turn in to Loodvislyn - go past Naaldvis turn-off, keep straight until you reach Maasbanker Road. Garden Cottage is no 21 in Maasbanker Road.

Air transfers can be arranged from the Richards Bay airport to Garden Cottage. Vehicles may be charged individually.
